Matt Damon in Elysium

As if Matt Damon wasn't badass — or hot — enough, here he is in Elysium, as a radiation poisoning-stricken man in 2154 whose only chance of getting treatment is to break into the luxurious space habitat of the super rich. Catch it in theaters on August 9th.

Sam Taylor Wood and Aaron Taylor Johnson

Cougar alert! Move over, Demi Moore. Director Sam Taylor-Wood has broken your record by marrying Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The 23-year-old actor, whom she directed in Nowhere Boy, is years 23 years younger than his 46-year-old wife.

Fairuza Balk

The Craft

She was born a goth. (It's in the eyes). Starring in archetypal witch-flick The Craft, as well as American History X, helped too.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie

Angelina may live an altruistic and seemingly vanilla A-list life now, but her wild past and tattoo collection make her the ultimate goth hottie.

Taylor Schilling

Taylor Schilling, Orange is the New Black

If you haven't heard about Taylor Schilling's Netflix series, Orange Is the New Black, by now, you need to get with the program. We mean that literally, because Jenji Kohan (who also created Weeds) has created a breath of fresh air in a sea of male-dominated dramas. Remember Schilling's name, because we see great things on her horizon.

Charlie Hunnam

Charlie Hunnam, Pacific Rim

You may have seen Charlie Hunnam on the critically acclaimed FX show Sons of Anarchy, but after his leading role in this summer's Guillermo del Toro anime-like blockbuster Pacific Rim, expect to see him everywhere. Often dubbed as the next Brad Pitt, Hunnam has the good looks and acting abilities to propel him to the A-list. Next you'll see him in Triple Nine with rumored costars Cate Blanchett and Christoph Waltz and Crimson Peak with Benedict Cumberbatch and Jessica Chastain. More dubiously, he also just landed the role of Christian Grey in the 50 Shades of Grey, which doesn't exactly seem like a great idea for anyone involved.

Daisy Lowe

Daisy Lowe

Daughter of '90s rock royalty, Bush’s Gavin Rossdale (now Mr. Stefani) and Pearl Lowe (now married to Supergrass’s Danny Goffey), Daisy has British kudos built in, not to mention some very good-looking DNA. A natural choice of model, then, for UK heritage brands like Burberry, Vivienne Westwood and Agent Provocateur, as well as international fashion heavyweights Marc Jacobs and Chanel (not to mention the illustrious pages of Playboy).

Alfie Allen

Alfie Allen, Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones star Alfie is sister to British pop star Lily, who wrote one of her biggest hits about his bratty teen years. These two dwarf their famous dad in celebrity stature: Keith Allen is a British film institution and semi-retired party animal.

Jeremy Irvine

Jeremy Irvine

He already had a bit of a running start (his big-screen debut was in Spielberg’s epic War Horse). Now a fresh-faced 23, the heartthrob has continued on the Hollywood fast track – check him out in The Railway Man, opposite Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth later this year.

Rinko Kikuchi

 Pacific Rim

Rinko Kikuchi crashed onto the scene with her critically lauded performance in Babel as a deaf teenage girl in Tokyo. Her raw performance in Babel confirmed her acting skills, but this summer's Pacific Rim proved that she can also kick ass. She went head to head with Charlie Hunnam in combat practice (and beat him), and next up she will join Keanu Reeves in 47 Ronin, the highly anticipated samurai vengeance tale, set for a Christmas 2013 release.

The New 'RoboCop' Trailer Is Explosive... Literally

If you've been breathlessly waiting for a remake of the 1987 film RoboCop, you're finally in luck. The new trailer (above) shows just as much violence and drama as we expect from a RoboCop movie. Starring on-the-rise actor Joel Kinnaman as the title character, the film compensates by filling out the rest of the cast with Hollywood heavy-weights like Gary OldmanSamuel L. Jackson, and Michael Keaton.
RoboCopColumbia Pictures
In the futuristic trailer, the world is plagued by drone strikes and constant crime. When Detective Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) suffers from life-threatening injuries sustained from a car explosion, Dr. Norton (Oldman) steps in to save his life. Meanwhile, Keaton and Jackson's characters have already been planning to create a robot-human machine. Needless to say, Murphy's accident proves to be the perfect opportunity to test this out, and when he wakes up, he is RoboCop. What Murphy doesn't know is that the men that created him are also controlling him. The rest of the trailer showcases the age-old storyline of good guy fighting back against the bad guys. Oh, and there's also a little romance and a ton explosive CGI violence thrown in for good measure.
RoboCop will be released on Feb. 7, 2014. Hopefully, these amazing actors and huge budget will make the film as great as the original. If not, we can always console ourselves with a marathon of the first, second, and third RoboCop movies.

Top 25 Highest Grossing Romance Movies

Love is in the air--it must be Feb. 14 again. Valentine's Day is all about the gifts exchanged, and while, no, love doesn't have to take the form of flowers, candy, dinner and/or singing telegrams (kidding, girls!), it never hurts.
But perhaps nothing caps off the special night, no matter how early or late, like a romance movie. It's snuggle-fodder for the girls, and for the guys--well, lest they forget, the romance genre begat romantic comedies, which begat Wedding Crashers. So, needless to say, there's room for compromise and fun to be had by all.
So in honor of Cupid's big day out, we've decided to take a look back at the oft-underappreciated romance genre, and unveil its highest-grossers. Jennifer Hudson Impresses in Uneven 'WInnie Mandela' Biopic

Winne Mandela, Jennifer Hudson, Terrence Howard image Entertainment 2013

With few acting credits to her name, and most of them supporting parts, Jennifer Hudson might not be your first candidate to handle a character whose story is so rich, substantial, and famously important as that of Winnie Mandela. The Mandelas have earned no shortage of cinematic attention — later this year, Idris Elba will headline his own Nelson Mandela biopic (a project that is earning a crescendo of attention). But the daunting task of portraying the indisputably iconic figure is not one that falls beyond Hudson's reach. In Winnie Mandela, a biographical film by South African director Darrell Roodt, Hudson is the qualitative stand-out.
Jumping sharply from one major point in Winnie's life to another, the script seems more focused on paying tribute to the booming beats of the woman's history than it is to delivering a fluid, cohesive story. With figures like Winnie and her husband Nelson (played in this production by Terrence Howard), it seems like an understandably frantic task to pack every influential bit into the 107-minute runtime, for fear of disrespecting their legacy. However, when the Mandelas begin to feel less like dimensional characters and more like textbook entries, the endeavor actually does a disservice to their humanistic plight. But luckily, the film never falls too far in this regard, thanks largely to the wonders worked by Hudson.
Again, you might not expect someone known best as a professional singer to be able to handle the meat of Winnie Mandela. But she manages both a vigilant strength and a pervasive compassion, laying claim to every scene all the while operating in a vat of deft chemistry with Howard. As the years pass for Winnie, Hudson too grows, handling the evolution of the character with impressive tact. The Winnie we see in the later chapters is a different woman, sure, but one firmly planted in the Winnie we meet at the start of the film — one brought to fight neighborhood boys and adhere eyes to her school books every waking minute.
While writer/director Roodt does not inject his feature with the sort of color and vivacity that a story about the Mandelas does indubitably warrant, we're rarely disengaged entirely, and that we owe to Hudson. Roodt might not have quite found the spirit of Winnie Mandela in his film, but Hudson found it in her performance.

Kick-Ass 2: Critical

Kick-Ass 2
The script and direction by Jeff Wadlow we deliver a surprisingly hilarious and violent sequel to the success of 2010.

Why did not anyone try to be a superhero ? This is the question that Dave Lizewski (Aaron Taylor- Johnson) arises teenager in 'Kick -Ass ', and eventually push to embrace the occupation and defend his city against criminals.
But superheroes are ubiquitous in this suite. In 'Kick -Ass 2' Kick -Ass joined Colonel Stars (Jim Carrey ) , Dr. Gravity (Donald Faison ) and Marty ( Clarke Duke ), among others , to form a team of vigilantes .
But what would a band of superheroes without a band of super villains ? Here is Chris D' Amico (Christopher Mintz- Plasse ) . Trying somehow to cope with the death of his father in the first film , Chris swears to take revenge by Kick- Ass , abandoning his alter ego Red Mist for the role of the first super villain in the world: Motherf % & * ^ r . He quickly recruited a band of villains all too threatening (Mother Russia, Black Death , Genghis Carnage and tumor ) to wreak havoc .
To complete the team of heavyweights is Mindy ( Chloë Grace Moretz ) aka Hit Girl. Crying also the death of his father, Mindy is not sure of the path his life should take. Does it store the cape and live a normal life? Or should it follow the last wish of his father and join the team of vigilantes ?
While still running around Taylor- Johnson, but like the first film, Moretz is leading the dance in 'Kick -Ass 2'. Rather than making fun of a rough child brandishing a knife , we now admire her acting skills in a more serious teenage role where she holds an even bigger knife!
Mintz- Plasse we also eyeful away from its traditional role of nice guy . ( Note: it should choose its scenarios based on the name of his characters and McLovin Motherf % & * ^ r are just ironic . . ) He put us in appetite in the first 'Kick - Ass' with its reference to Jack Nicholson / the Joker, and this time he gives us a successful character equally tormented and threatening.
The distinction between violence tasteful and gratuitous violence is very subtle. The writer / director Jeff Wadlow gives stabs at the heart of this line, cut his hand while throwing her hilarious and witty insults about his mother in the face. And we love every second!
